When inspiration strikes I sometimes work on other projects.

People You May Meet ABCs

This is a set of English alphabet illustrations celebrating different people children may meet and learn from as they grow up. A diverse range of people and types of work are represented.

This is 27 individual 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch (14 x 14cm) images printed on heavy stock semigloss paper, reproduced from my original colored pencil and ink drawings. You can hang this art in any formation you'd like - in a line across the room, a grid, or keep them in a stack to touch and handle.

This is actually the project that started it all! I made this ABC series of drawings several years ago for a friend who was expecting her first baby. I envisioned a world in which her baby would get to meet people of all races, genders and abilities doing different meaningful work, where everyone was respected and treated well. My hope for the youngest generation is to grow up and be able to value the connections between all of us, to help everyone reach their full potential, and to be a part of a society where everyone fits in to the whole together – where the people you may meet mean something to you.

People You May Meet is about identity, hope and human connection. Systemic racism impacts each of our identities, hopes and connections. So, after I cover the cost to print and ship these ABCs, I donate all of the proceeds to Color of Change.

Color of Change mobilizes people to end practices and systems that unfairly hold Black people back, and champion solutions that move us all forward.
